BME use the Vertidrive robotic cleaning system for surface preparation. The system is operated via the control module in the hands of the operator. Once attached to the ship by magnet and supported on two winches and one inertia reel, the VertiDrive will comfortably achieve 10-20m2 per hour removing typical marine coating systems.
The VertiDrive allows the operator to stand in a safe, clean environment whilst performing the surface preparation task. Its’ interchangeable cleaning heads and swing arms allow a variety of different work to be carried out from UHP water jetting to HP water jetting on marine growth to dry grit blasting.
The versatile VertiDrive unit can be used on but not limited to hulls, top sides, passenger decks, car decks, walkways, and tanks.
BME have a full range of UHP units for carrying out surface preparation on the outside and underside of vessels. The units are all assembled inside purpose-built workshops that have benches and tooling to allow maintenance and storage of parts, consumables, and PPE.
Our UHP team are trained to the highest level and are qualified to work at heights typically from MEWPs and telescopic boom lifts. We use state-of-the-art cleaning heads that are designed to remove all typical marine coatings. Our pumps range from 1000 bar to 3000 bar, and from 16 litres to 50 litres per minute. Working alongside the VertiDrive, this allows us to handle jobs with high complexity and large meterage demands to ensure that we deliver within the client’s timescale.
BME has a large fleet of Blastrac equipment to remove the most difficult of coatings in the most demanding of environments. By using Blastrac, you overcome the biggest challenges faced by all dry docks:
By using Blastrac, you can expect to achieve 150-200m2 per 12-hour day.
As part of our service to the marine industry, our multi-skilled workforce allows us to apply the coatings to the steel as we prepare the surface. Our highly trained personnel are efficient in all styles of coatings application, this includes stripe coating; brush/roller; airless spraying; and hopper gunning.
The BME team is experienced in the application of typical marine coatings for all purposes, including corrosion prevention, anti-fouling, anti-slip, and identification markings.
BME are self-sufficient with their owned coating equipment spreads.
Purchased by BME Group in 2015, Nitech has now been designing and manufacturing lighting solutions for over 40 years. The business was relocated to Aberdeen and the R&D department spent 3 years designing the innovative Zone I product range.
As the OEM of the product, in full control of the build and the aftermarket service, we can offer a best-in-class solution. As a UK manufacturer, we minimise your carbon footprint and eliminate any customs and import duties.
BME Group opened its hydraulic and hose assembly division in 2019, located in Bridge of Don, Aberdeen. With workshops and pressure test bays the facility can provide fast reaction services to local industries and the mobile van service can manufacture on-site at your location. The business owns its own hose management and tagging system and a calibrated HAVS monitoring system which can provide you with HAVS certification for your tools. We carry a wide range of hoses and fittings to meet most clients’ needs.
